The city said in a statement, “these early construction works are a critical part of ensuring roads are safe, reliable and built to service residents and businesses, now and in the future when the LRT is in operation.”
Metrolinx is overseeing the 14 kilometre LRT project, which will stretch from Eastgate Square, to McMaster University.
City staff are encouraging residents to plan ahead and to use alternate routes during the construction, and to expect delays and increased traffic on the surrounding roads.
