The musical guests and details have been announced for this year’s Canal Days Festival in Port Colborne.

The festival will remain four days long leading up to the Civic Holiday. This year it will be from Aug. 1 to 4.

The mainstage will be at H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park in Port Colborne’s downtown core.

On Friday Aug. 1, this year’s HTZ-FM Rocksearch winners, Small Town Strip Club will open the night. Following them is last year’s winner, Feral Minks and Canadian rock legends Sloan. Closing out the night will be Big Sugar.

Saturday will start with Ottawa’s Boston Levi followed by Finger Eleven from Burlington. Wrapping up the Sunday evening is the Trews.

The last performances will be on Sunday at West and Sugarloaf Streets. The festival had previously announced they would be doing a rooftop concert this year. However, it said it was no longer going to do this due to growing costs and logistical challenges. Instead, Sunday concert goers will be able to experience the live music and fireworks from the new venue.

The night will be headlined by U2 tribute band, Desire and Toronto’s Main Event Music will play during Sunday’s fireworks.

This year will mark the 47th annual Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival.
