The City of Hamilton is rolling out several changes to its public transit system this week, including a hike in the fare to ride.
Starting on Sept. 1., tapping onto any city-run bus will cost an additional 10 cents.
The change is part of the eighth year of the city’s ten-year transit strategy plan, which aims to support the Hamilton Street Railway agency, improve transit times, and provide riders with an overall improved experience.
Those changes include increased Sunday service, longer hours on some lines that usually stop running early, and more rides on Holidays.
Sunday and holiday service has been added to the following routes (9 a.m. to 10 p.m.):
Late-night service has been added to several routes, meaning the following lines will run every 30 minutes during the evening (7 p.m. until end of service):
