Justin Trudeau’s appearance on 60 Minutes, Sunday night was a ratings hit.
It was the highest rated program in the local market and more than one million Canadians watched at least some of the show which airs on CHCH
If you checked Twitter, Monday morning, you likely saw the buzz surrounding Trudeau’s 60 minutes interview.
The Prime Minister was asked about his policies and what Canadians disliked about America.
While reaction was generally positive, some of his commentrs brought criticism.
Cconservative MP Jason Kenney rushed to Twitter, calling Trudeau’s comment smug, adding his comment was manifestly untrue.
Canadians weren’t the only ones to respond to last night’s interview.. Following the segment, reaction south of the border flooded Twitter with Americans sharing their desires to move to canada.
Prompting tweets like “Watching 60 minutes segment on Justin Trudeau has pretty much swen it up for me: I’m moving to Canada”. and “Justin Trudeau for President of North America”
McMaster Professor Henry Giroux says Trudeau has become a model for leadership, during this election cycle in the US.
Just last week, ‘Move to Canada’ Google searches spiked 350% after Super Tuesday and searches were up again last night.
The 60 Minutes segment also touched on Trudeau’s childhood and the move to accept 25-thousand syrian refugees.
