Trudeau to visit The White House in March

Prime Minister Trudeau will make a trip to Washington in March to meet with U.S President Barack Obama.

Trudeau and his wife are to be welcomed by the Obamas for an official visit and state dinner at The White House on March 10th.

The visit’s being described as a chance for the two countries to deepen their bilateral relationship.

Obama and Trudeau met on the sidelines of the APEC summit in the Philippines in November and Obama had mentioned then that he had
hoped to have the Trudeaus to The White House in the new year.

It will be the first White House state dinner in 19 years for a Canadian leader.

The last one was in 1997 when Bill Clinton hosted Jean Chretien.
