Walk into your neighbourhood comic book store and the first thing you see is Star Wars
And the first thing you’ll talk about, is Star Wars
The first public screening of The Force Awakens is tomorrow night and of course it’s sold out.
Cineplex Canada says Episode VII has sold more pre-ordered tickets than any movie ever. Just last week, Cinplex added 50% more screens to show the movie. And still, some people will have to wait to see it, even though tickets first went on sale in October.
If you find yourself in that boat, you’re in serious trouble of running into a movie-goers worst nightmare – SPOILERS!
First thing’s first, go on a complete media blackout
“It’s just a matter of covering my eyes, staying off Facebook, social media. I’m not even going on the internet.”
If that’s not enough, remove the source. Second, stay away from anyone who has already seen the movie.
If none of those options work for you instead of staying away from Star Wars, maybe you can immerse yourself in it, be one with the franchise. And you can do so in some select theatres across the country.
This morning Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto started a 20 plus hour Star Wars marathon. All six movies back to back, topping off with ‘The Force Awakens.’
Get claustrophobic? In this case, technology is here to help. Google Chrome must be following the light side. You see they just installed a plug-in that senses whether a website you’re visiting might contain potential spoilers. If it does, it warns you, so now you’re warned.
