The documentary “Kony 2012” has been viewed more than 5 million times in the last two days and “Stop Kony” is trending on Twitter and Facebook.
Joseph Kony is the leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda and humanitarian filmmaker Jason Russel is aiming to raise more awareness about the terrorist group to get government leaders to step up action against it.
Kony is the international criminal court’s most wanted man.
Over nearly 30 years, his group has abducted more than 30,000 children turning the boys into soldiers who murder their parents and using the girls as sex slaves.
Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School in Hamilton has reportedly made a Facebook group dedicated to the movement.
