Home from Haiti – but planning to return

When Cheryl and Laurens Van Der Mark moved their family to Haiti three years ago, they had no idea how much their life would change.

They’re back living in Waterdown now, after an unforgettable experience following the 2010 earthquake. Their family’s grown too; but as they re-adjust to life in Canada, their minds are never far from Haiti.

The family will be taking the girls to Haiti again in May as they want to make sure they stay connected to their homeland, and cheryl is now a consultant at mission of hope — and goes back every few months.
