A man wrongly implicated in the crimes of sex killer Russell Williams has launched a nearly $1.6 million lawsuit.
Larry Jones, who was Williams’ next-door-neighbour, says he suffered emotional and mental stress after coming under suspicion in a series of break-ins and sexual assaults in the Tweed area.
The suit alleges Jones was subjected to four months of intense police investigation, including what he describes as a “humiliating” interrogation.
The lawsuit names Williams and the police, as well as one of the convicted killer’s victims for wrongfully identifying Jones’ voice as that of her assailant.
