Ontario is reporting 454 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday and nine more deaths related to the virus.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says 249 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 205 are in fully vaccinated individuals.
The data is based on 33,364 tests completed on the previous day.
The province says 15,257 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the last 24-hour period for a total of more than 22.6 million.
Elliott says 88.5 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and 85.2 per cent have two doses.
She says 243 people are currently in hospital due to COVID-19. Of those in hospital, 182 individuals are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 61 are fully vaccinated.
There are 136 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illnesses and 74 on ventilators.
At least two of the province’s 626 long-term care homes currently have a COVID-19 outbreak declared at the facility.
An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
