Hamilton man charged with threatening police on social media

A Hamilton man has been arrested and charged for threats made against police on social media.

Police say they received information about several posts on social media threatening to “shoot up” Hamilton police central station and the officers inside on Monday.

Detectives were able to identify who they believe is the author of the post.

A 25-year-old Hamilton man was arrested on Monday evening. He faces the following charges:

• Utter threat to cause death
• Fail to comply with release order
• Fail to comply probation x 4
