Youth 12+ eligible to book vaccine appointment Sunday

The province says it’s expanding vaccine bookings to youth ahead of schedule.

People aged 12 and over will be eligible to book their appointment beginning at 8 a.m. this Sunday.

Appointments can be made in a number of ways, but you must be at least 12 years old by this Sunday to book through the provincial booking system. Youth can also book at select pharmacies administering the Pfizer vaccine, which is the only shot that has been authorized by Health Canada for use in this age group.

If you are turning 12 after Sunday, you can book an appointment for a later date through the provincial call centre.

Halton residents however will not be able to book this weekend for youth 12 and up. Halton region uses its own booking system and says it will open on Monday, May 31st for youth 12 to 17.
