A Niagara police officer has been arrested and charged with assault following an off-duty incident.

Police say they were called to a “disturbance” involving two men at a gas station in Thorold on Feb. 27. One man was left with minor injuries.

Const. Josh Wood, a one-year member of the force, has been suspended with pay.
