Ontario reported 966 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, as another 979 cases have been marked as resolved.
Tuesday’s numbers come as the province completed 30,767 tests. The reported positivity rate, which takes into account the date tests were done, is 2.9 per cent.
Another 11 deaths have been reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 6,997 people.
There are now 542 cases of the B.1.1.7 lineage of the virus, first reported in the U.K., up seven cases from Monday.
The other variants of concern remained steady. There are 27 cases of the B.1.351 strain first reported in South Africa and three cases of the the P.1 strain first reported in Brazil.
The province says it gave another 22,326 vaccine doses on Monday. As of 8 p.m., a total of 727,021 doses have been administered.
There are 264,896 people who have received both vaccine doses and are fully vaccinated.
The number of people in hospital is 677. There are 284 in intensive care and 189 are on ventilators.
