The court date for one of three men accused in a 2001 fire at a Hamilton temple has been postponed. Ryan Scott, 33, is charged with arson in what’s been described as a hate crime.

The Hindu Samaj temple was targeted just days after the 9/11 attacks. A Hamilton mosque was also vandalized. The fire made national headlines and is believed to be part of the anti-arab backlash sparked by the terrorist attack.

Two other men have been charged with arson. Christopher Pollard, 33, and Damien Marsh, 34.

Scott’s court appearance has been rescheduled for January 14th.
