Two Canadians detained in Egypt since the August 16 protests following the removal of president Mohammed Morsi could face murder charges.

The Toronto Star has uncovered a list of charges Egyptian authorities are considering against the two including murder. Both deny all allegations, and lawyers say there is no credible evidence against them. A conviction on murder charges could result in a death sentence.

Toronto filmmaker John Greyson and Dr. Tarek Loubani have had their detention extended by another 45 days despite not having been charged with anything.
