$1M damage in bank fire

A fire at a Burlington bank has caused more than a million dollars in damage. Someone called 911 after seeing smoke pouring from the CIBC branch at 2400 Fairview street in Burlington early this morning.

About 30 fire fighters were called in to put it out. There was a lot of smoke on the second floor, and crews found a fire in an office area as well as in the roof.

Even though the cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious, the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office has been called in to investigate because the damage estimate is so high.
