Deadly St. Catharines fire

There’s been a deadly fire in St. Catharines.

A woman and three dogs are dead after a home on Davidson Street caught fire around noon Sunday. Because of the extent of the flames, firefighters were forced to attack it from the outside, before it was safe for them to go inside. Once inside, they found a lot of clutter, including many combustible products, which made it difficult for them to get around. Few details have been released about the victim, but neighbours say she was an elderly woman who lived alone. The cause of the blaze is listed as careless cooking.
