Charges laid after pedestrian assaulted

Hamilton police have charged a 50 year old man, after an assault on Hamilton mountain Tuesday night.

Police say the pedestrian, who was wearing braces on both legs, made a hand gesture towards a driver.

The driver then got out of his truck near Upper Gage and Fennell Avenue, and stepped on his chest.

The 19 year old pedestrian was taken to hospital but later released.

The driver has been charged with dangerous driving and assault.
