80-year-old Stoney Creek man injured in crash on Highway 5

Burlington OPP are investigating a crash on Highway 5 on Thursday that injured an 80-year-old man from Stoney Creek.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on Highway 5 between Ofield Rd. South and Sydenham Rd.

Police say the 80-year-old man was driving in the westbound lanes when he crossed the centre line and collided with an eastbound dump truck.

The driver from Stoney Creek was reported as having life-threatening injuries initially but police say those injuries are less serious than originally suspected.

The dump truck driver was reportedly uninjured.

Anyone with information about this incident, or those with dash camera footage are asked to contact Burlington OPP.
