13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is an action-drama directed by Michael Bay (Transformers:
Age of ExtinctionPearl Harbor). It’s based on the book 13 Hours by Mitchell Zuckoff and stars James Badge Dale, John Krasinski, Max Martini, Dominic Fumusa, Pablo Schreiber, David Denman, Toby Stephens, Demetrius Grosse, and Freddie Stroma.

13 HOURS presents, for the first time ever, the true account of the events of September 11, 2012, when terrorists attacked the US State Department Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA station called the Annex in Benghazi, Libya. A team of six American security operators fought to repel the attackers and protect the Americans stationed there. Those men went beyond the call of duty, performing extraordinary acts of courage and heroism, to avert tragedy on a much larger scale.

Due to the nature of the film’s source material, the CIA met with Bay to make sure it didn’t jeopardize any real life intelligence information. In a statement to The Daily Beast, CIA spokesperson Kali Caldwell said, “When Michael Bay reached out to CIA regarding his 13 Hours film, we agreed to meet him for the purpose of protecting against the potential release of classified information. As with other Hollywood projects and in line with agency regulations, CIA does not endorse this film or any other film.”

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is rated 14A.
