1 critically injured in single-vehicle collision on Hamilton Mountain

Police say one person has been taken to hospital in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash on the Hamilton Mountain on Monday.

Officers say that around 5:30 p.m. a vehicle left the roadway on Upper James St. near Glanair Dr. before coming to rest in a tree-filled area.

They say the vehicle was occupied by a sole driver at the time. The 41-year-old man from Hamilton was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition.

A portion of Upper James St. was closed for several hours as the Collision Reconstruction Unit examined the scene, but has since re-opened.
