Young man’s body recovered from Welland River after drowning

Niagara Police said they have found the body of an 18-year-old man who drowned in the Welland River in Niagara Falls on Friday night.

Officers were called to a campground for reports of a drowning.

The young man was swimming in the river when he began to experience difficulty.

Police said people nearby tried to help but attempts were unsuccessful.
