After over a year of controversy, including a full length documentary, the video showing Hamilton city councillor Lloyd Ferguson shoving independent city hall journalist Joey Coleman has been released.

CHCH has been trying to obtain the video since the spring.

Staff had earlier said it wasn’t possible since the matter was in the hands of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.

Ferguson says he decided to drop his appeal regarding “the push” noting it caused a lot of stress on his family and distracted him from his duties.

Earlier Ferguson apologized and made a donation of $1,000 to Ancaster Community Services.
