It’s day 5 of the search of Lake Ontario for missing boater, Jarett Shoal. The Grimsby man went fishing early Thursday morning and 12 hours later, his boat beached at Charles Daley Park. Jarett has not been seen since.

He launched his 15 foot aluminum fishing boat at Foran’s Marine about 5:30 Thursday morning and according to his brother Brett, this was something he would do often. At around 8:00 that same morning, Brett says Jarett was seen by a friend near Foran’s in his fishing boat where the water was about 20 feet deep. Then at about 5:00 Thursday evening, someone reported the boat beached at Charles Daley Park, the motor was still running.

Police and Rescue personnel have been searching Lake Ontario since then: from the air, the ground, and on the water running search patterns. On Monday morning, someone reported seeing something red floating off Charles Daley Park, the Niagara Police Marine Unit and the Coast Guard searched for that red item, which turned out to be only a ball. Jarett may have been wearing a red sweater and blue pants along with his fishing vest. His picture is posted along the shoreline.
