It’s not quite as exciting as a torch run, but another Pan Am unveiling happened today – and it’s something drivers need to be aware of.

Ontario is adding 5,000 temporary blue and orange signs across all venues to help direct people to events. Each venue will have its own 3 letter code, which will also be on your tickets.

New signs for the temporary HOV lanes will also be out on highways. While transportation minister Steven Del Duca says the province says it has a solid transit plan, it’s still advising everyone to plan ahead.

“As with any major sporting event, we know that it’s going to get busy on our roads and on transit. Next week, next monday, when the temporary HOV lanes open we expect that our roads will be busy as our drivers adjust to these new lanes. That’s why we’re asking everyone to plan ahead, and to leave extra time in order to get where you need to be.”

On June 29th to July 27th, 3 or more people can use the HOV lanes. And after July 27th, only 2 or more people are allowed in the lanes.

The games kick off on July 10th.
