An historic house preservation took on a different look today. In fact, you could see it making its way down the road in Burlington today.

When they built the Victorian style house before 1881, they didn’t know they were building a mobile home. The custom made tractor trailer moved it from Elgin street to it’s new location a block away on Maple avenue.

The completion of the project is just around the corner and the house will be permanently placed on its new foundation tomorrow.

The heritage home was a private sale and no cost to the City of Burlington.

A four storey condominium will be built on the now vacant land on Elgin street and is set to open in 18 months.
