Mark Carney welcomes new Liberal as party edges toward majority

The liberals have picked up yet another conservative floor-crosser, bringing the party one seat away from holding a functional majority government. Ontario MP Marilyn Gladu took to social media to announce her decision this morning, saying she has “made a choice to do the best thing for our community’s priorities, and importantly, for our country.” For his part, Prime Minister Mark Carney says he’s “honoured” to welcome a new liberal.
