The global trade map is being redrawn and Canada has planted its flag deep into Southeast Asia.

The new bilateral trade deal with Indonesia is a first of its kind and one Prime Minister Carney has called a “gamechanger.”

Once fully implemented, this new deal will heavily reduce and in some cases completely remove tariffs on certain goods when trading with Indonesia.

It is also nearly a billion dollars in debt financing for the Asian nation, while building on a new defence agreement.
