Actor Laura Dern announces death of her mother, Diane Ladd

Actor Laura Dern announced today that her mother, Hollywood icon Diane Ladd, has died. Dern and Ladd worked closely throughout their careers, becoming the first mother-daughter duo to receive Academy Award nominations for the same film. Ladd appeared in 62 films and 157 television episodes over her more than 70-year career.
