This diagram shows the trajectory of interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS as it passes through the solar system. It will make its closest approach to the Sun in October (NASA/JPL-Caltech).

Recent images from NASA and the European Space Agency suggest that 3I/ATLAS, an interstellar comet racing through space, could be seen passing by Earth in December.

The phenomenon sparked debate after rumors that it was not a comet but rather alien technology due to it’s trajectory, composition and other factors, but experts have discounted this view.

Just a few weeks ago NASA experts released new images of the object, adding that research indicates it is a comet.
