Police in Oakville are on the lookout for multiple suspects following a carjacking that happened early Tuesday morning.
Halton Regional Police said a victim driving a 2021 Mercedes had her vehicle stolen around 1 a.m. when she was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Dundas St. West and Trafalgar Rd.
The victim was struck from behind by a suspect vehicle and was in the process of exchanging information with the driver when two additional suspects got in her Mercedes.
They threatened the victim with a handgun before stealing her vehicle.
The victim’s dog was inside her vehicle at the time of the carjacking and was missing for several hours before a community member found him running loose near River Oaks Blvd. and Sixth Ln.

The stolen vehicle was recovered an hour later abandoned in Toronto.
No physical injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The driver of the suspect vehicle is described as a man in his early teens or late 20s, approximately five-foot-ten, clean shaven, with brown skin and wearing a grey two-tone sweat suit.
Police did not release a description for the other suspects or suspect vehicle.
