Niagara festival aims to set record for world’s largest Caesar bar this weekend

First Published:

A festival in the Niagara region is hoping to set a world record this weekend for the largest Caesar bar.

Attendees at the first annual Sip Niagara event can sample beverages from over 40 wineries, breweries and distilleries. Local restaurants and chefs will also be there with yummy bites to pair with the drinks.

The highlight of the festival will be their DIY Caesar bar with over 180 different ingredients.

“We have 182 ingredients, which is 12 more than the world record,” said culinary mixologist Jeremy Parsons. “It’s a lot, it’s big, it’s beautiful, it’s flavourful, it’s everything.”

Parsons, who is also the host of the Gastro Guru on Amazon Prime Video, said the event organizers will send the Guinness World Records a video of the Caesar bar and a full listing of what it contains in hopes of setting a record.

While you enjoy the sips, snacks and live music, you may be a part of the latest Amazon Prime Video series “The Gastro Guru,” which will be filmed at the Niagara festival as well.

The event is free to attend but tickets for food and drinks can be purchased for $1 each. Parsons said the Caesar bar is separate and costs $25 because you get to take home a commemorative glass.

The festival is happening on Dec. 4 and 5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre on 4890 Victoria Ave. North in Lincoln.
