Adoptable Pets: Hamilton-Burlington SPCA introduces Rumpelstiltskin

Time for another edition of Adoptable Pets. This morning, we were joined by Heather Ashcroft of the Hamilton-Burlington SPCA with Rumpelstiltskin. A.K.A. Rumpel.
Rumpel is a small mixed-breed chocolate dog. He is seven-years-old and weighs under 24 lbs fully grown.
He is a social boy who would do best in a home with children 10 years and older. He is active, but enjoys a good snuggle.
Rumpel seems to have some understanding of how to appropriately interact with humans and can be quite needy. He can be vocal when he is unable to be with his people.
He can be a bit bossy with other dogs and would do best with a submissive male or a female dog. Rumpel was rescued from a very small house with over 15- other dogs. Most of them are very friendly and affectionate dogs but lack the social skills and training that you would expect from your average pet.
They are not used to being alone and would do best in a home with another dog as a companion. Some behavior challenges you can expect to see with these dogs are; difficulty with housetraining, frequent marking or urinating on objects in home, not easily accepting of people, unable to interact appropriately with people and becoming over-attached/separation anxiety.
These dogs have never been walked on a leash or have had any obedience training. Some dogs may show obsessive-compulsive behaviors such as spinning, barking, chewing, digging, and object hoarding. These are all behaviors that are a result of them not getting enough attention or stimulation in their past lives.
