Police say a 53-year-old Welland man has died and a woman is in critical condition after a car and motorcycle collided Wednesday afternoon in Niagara Falls.

Emergency crews responded shortly after 1 p.m. to Lundy’s Lane between Kalar and Montrose roads for reports of a crash.

A Niagara Regional Police Service spokesperson says paramedics transported two people to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers say the 53-year-old man later died in hospital, while the woman remains in another out-of-town hospital with a serious lower body injury.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit has been called in.

Lundy’s Lane has reopened in both directions to vehicular traffic.
