Halton police warn charges may be laid against prank-pulling teens

First Published:

Halton police have issued a warning to a group of teenagers who have been playing “Nicky Nicky Nine Door” on several homes in Oakville.

Police say the teens have been targeting a neighbourhood in south-east Oakville for the last 15 nights.

The prank consists of a group of people knocking on people’s doors or ringing a doorbell and then running away before the homeowner can answer.

Police say the teens have been caught on multiple security cameras in the area.

Investigators are warning the teens, and their parents, that charges may be laid. “The homeowners may ask us to pursue charges; from Trespassing up to Mischief,” said Halton police in a post on Twitter. “Find a new legal hobby as these homeowners patience has worn out.”
