Woman critically injured after being struck by car in east Hamilton

Hamilton police say an older adult woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a car at the intersection of Barton and Kenilworth streets.

Officers were called to the scene at around 11:30 a.m. and have had the scene closed since then while they investigate. Busses have been diverted from the area, police did not have information on their route.

Authorities say the driver of the car remained at the scene after the collision.
