Welland comes together for vigil for young sexual assault victim

A community vigil was held last night in Welland for a young girl who was sexually assaulted by a registered sex offender who broke into her family home at the end of August.

Niagara police say the girl — who is under five — suffered “serious injuries” during the brutal attack on Aug. 30.

Daniel Senecal, 25, has been charged in the assault.
