West Harbour GO to soon have shorter commute times to Niagara

The recently upgraded track at West Harbour GO will cut down travel times for commuters travelling to and from the Niagara region.
Ontario Transport Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria announced Wednesday the newly constructed GO station will save more than 250,00 commuters in Niagara Falls and St. Catharines 15 minutes per roundtrip.
The station is now connected to the main Lakeshore West rail line, leading to faster service in and out of West Harbour GO.
“All trains travelling to and from Niagara Falls, including weekend off-peak trips, will soon stop at the West Harbour GO station … that’s 32 additional weekly trips,” said Sarkaria.
The completed work is another step in GO rail service to the future Confederation GO Station in east Hamilton.
Riders can expect the Lakeshore West schedule to be adjusted in the coming weeks after testing of the new track is complete.
