Vikram Singh nomination bid rejected by Ontario PC’s

There will be a new nomination meeting this week to see who will run for the Ontario PC’s in Hamilton West Ancaster Dundas, but Vikram Singh won’t be a candidate. He’s been rejected by the party with little answers as to why.
“The internal party process has made a decision in what they feel is in the best interest of the party and being a party member I respect their decision.”
The party didn’t give a reason, saying it doesn’t comment on internal processes. Party sources told CHCH News Singh was disqualified for “comments he made in the past” but they wouldn’t specify. Ben Levitt was announced as the winner at the original nomination meeting last spring.
Singh alleged that ballot boxes were stuffed and took the party to court, but dropped the lawsuit earlier this year. That meeting is being investigated by Hamilton police.
Today Singh says despite his candidacy being rejected he will remain committed to Hamilton. The party has now approved Vincent Samuel’s application as a candidate. He was the coordinator of Doug Ford’s local leadership campaign. Samuel will now face off against Ben Levitt.
The riding renomination is scheduled for this Sunday, April 15 at the Ancaster fairgrounds.
