UPDATE: Hamilton police arrest one person in connection with Mount Hope homicide, abduction
Hamilton police have arrested a 25-year-old male in connection with a fatal home invasion last month.
Officers were called to Mount Hope shortly before 3 a.m. after reports of a shooting.
They found two of Faqir Ali’s sons suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both males were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police later updated Hasnain Ali died in hospital.
Their father Faqir Ali was taken and driven in a dark SUV where he was assaulted and dumped by the suspects.
Officers found him near Beach Blvd. in Hamilton.
Investigators have now charged 25-year-old Antoine Chambers with first-degree murder of Hasnain Ali, and attempted murder, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and firearms-related offences.
Champers is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 13.
Police are still looking for two additional suspects and urge anyone with information to contact police or crime stoppers.
