Unlicensed dispensary on Main East shuttered following Hamilton police raid

Hamilton police say they’ve shut down an unlicensed cannabis dispensary on Main Street East and seized a large quantity of drugs.

On Thursday, officers executed a search warrant at Hi Gradez Cannabis Dispensary following a complaint from a community member.

Their investigation revealed the shop was operating without the proper licensing needed to sell cannabis.

One woman was arrested during the search and has been released with a future court date.

Hamilton police would like to remind the public that purchasing cannabis from unlicensed shops poses significant health risks – as illegal cannabis is not subject to regulatory testing and may contain pesticides, mold, bacteria, lead or arsenic.
