It’s Black History Month and TikTok is recognizing the contributions of black creators who spark inspiration and creativity through content on the entertainment platform.

Eric Vienneau spoke to one of those creators Saturday, who told her incredible story of triumph over tragedy.

Fifteen years ago Taylor Lindsay Noel was a successful gymnast, but in 2008 an unexpected high fall from the high bar left her paralyzed from the chest down.

That didn’t stop her from pursuing her dreams.

Taylor launched “Cup of Te Luxury Loose Leaf Teas” in 2018.

In 2020 her company was featured on Oprah’s favourite things list.

Taylor began using TikTok as a way to advocate for accessibility, gaining 40-thousand followers.

And TikTok is recognizing Taylor among other black Canadian influencers for Black History Month.

Taylor isn’t done expanding her business, most recently, she opened a café at Dufferin and Lawrence in Toronto in November.
