Springer’s 7th inning dinger sends Toronto Blue Jays to World Series

It’s George Springer and his three-run home run in the 7th inning that secured the Toronto Blue Jays Monday’s 4-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners and a spot in the World Series.
The win sends the Blue Jays to their first World Series since 1993. The Los Angeles Dodgers will be making the trip up north to Toronto for Game 1 on Friday.
In the bottom of the 7th inning, Addison Barger and Isiah Kiner-Falefa are on base and the score is 3-1 for the Mariners.
Up comes Springer, who had yet to hit anything but foul-balls since being hit in the knee with a 97 mph pitch in Seattle during Game 5.
Springer flipped Mariners pitcher Eduard Bazardo’s pitch into a 381-foot drive into left field and sent the sold-out crowd into a frenzy.

Seattle failed to come back from the Blue Jays’ one-point lead over them by the time the 9th inning came.
Jeff Hoffman finished out pitching for the Jays, not allowing the Mariners to slip any runs past them.
It was first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. who was named the series’ MVP after matching Toronto’s all-time record for most home runs in the post season.
The American League Championship Series got off to a rough start for Toronto, with the Mariners quickly taking a 2-0 lead.
But the Jays fought back and are now preparing to face the Dodgers at home on Friday.
