Video shows pickup truck engulfed in flames on Burlington Skyway

Three Niagara-bound lanes on the Burlington Skyway bridge have reopened after a pickup truck caught fire Friday afternoon.

An Ontario Provincial Police spokesperson says the fire was reported around 1:30 p.m.

Video posted to X shows the pickup truck engulfed in flames on the shoulder of the bridge, with a person standing nearby as traffic comes to a standstill.

OPP say the extent of any injuries remains unknown.

The lanes were closed for nearly two hours as crews cleaned up the scene, but have now reopened.

There is no word yet on what caused the vehicle fire.
