Search underway for missing Hamilton woman last seen Jan.13

Family and friends are holding a search party this morning for a missing Hamilton woman who hasn’t been seen in over a week.

The search for 58-year-old Dorota Pruszewski begins at 9:30 a.m. at Williams Café.

Volunteers will be divided into two groups and search specific areas; police are aware of the efforts.

Dorota was last seen leaving her house last Tuesday, near Ferguson Ave. and Burlington St. East.

This area is key because Dorota was last seen leaving her house near Ferguson Ave. and Burlington St. East sometime between 6 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 13.

Police initially said they believe she was in the area of Pier 8, Catherine St. North and Guise St. East.

She is described as a white woman, around five-feet five-inches tall with a slim build, shoulder-length reddish-brown hair.

Police say she was possibly wearing a long silver-grey winter jacket with fur on the hood, a black toque and black ankle boots.

Const. Adam Kimber with Hamilton Police said Dorota’s husband contacted the police the morning of her disappearance.

The missing person does require medication and police are concerned for her wellbeing.

Police say Dorota is believed to have left home with her phone at the time of her disappearance.

Police are asking the public to check any dash cam or doorbell camera footage from Jan. 13 starting at 6 a.m. and onwards for any sightings of Dorota.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

If you do plan to join the search today, you’re asked to dress for the cold temperatures and call police if Dorota is found.
