The province has purchased a used private jet to be used primarily by Premier Doug Ford for official travel.
The Premier’s office tells CHCH News that the province took possession of the used 2016 Challenger jet this week at a cost of $28.9 million.
The jet is said to be used to support the Premier with travelling to Council of the Federation and First Ministers’ meetings while also allowing Ford to travel to the U.S. to ‘make the case’ against tariffs.
The office says that while the jet’s primary use will be for the premier’s travel it could be used in emergencies for other purposes.
