An early January search warrant in Port Colborne led to the arrest of two locals on a number of drugs and firearms charges.

Niagara police have charged Jeffrey Boston, 40, and Misti Barron, 41, with possession of various drugs for trafficking, careless storage of a firearm and possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, among other charges.

Police recovered five kilograms of fentanyl — with a street value of over $250,000 — and 600 oxycodone pills in the bust, as well as suspected crystal meth.

Investigators also seized $55,000 in cash and two loaded handguns.

The search warrant was carried out Jan. 2 in the area of Welland and Louis streets.
