Niagara police are investigating a series of sexual assaults that took place during the “Happening” festival along Main Street in Grimsby on June 13.

Officers say there were multiple reports of a man approaching young men and boys in the crowd. Witnesses said he asked their age, then proceeded to grab their genitals.

Two adult men have come forward to police so far, but investigators believe there may be additional victims.

As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old Hayden Jackson of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of assault.

Jackson remains in custody and is expected to appear for a bail hearing on Saturday in St. Catharines.

Officers describe him as a white male, 33 years old, approximately 5’10 and 190 lbs. He has short brown hair and a beard. At the time of the alleged assaults, he was wearing a black baseball cap, glasses, a blue short-sleeved t-shirt, grey sweatpants and a black backpack.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or had contact with the accused is asked to contact police at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009638.
