Police name porn actor as dismemberment suspect
The man seen in this photo is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, in connection with the gruesome case of body parts being sent through the mail.
One of the body parts – a foot – was sent to Conservative party headquarters in Ottawa, and police there confirm the case is connected to a torso found in Montreal.
Montreal police say 29-year old Luka Rocco Magnotta is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in connection to the suspected murder. A man with that name has a huge presence online as a low-budget adult film actor, and is known to have allegedly posted videos on the internet of kittens being tortured and killed. Years ago there were rumors he allegedly dated serial killer Karla Homolka – something he denied in 2007.
A building manager says Magnotta was renting an apartment in the Montreal building that’s now the epicentre of the investigation. It was there that a man’s torso stuffed in a suitcase was discovered yesterday, around the same time a human foot was delivered to Conservative party headquarters in Ottawa. A few hours later, police intercepted a second package containing a human hand at a Canada Post terminal. It was headed for Liberal party headquarters.
Police say they were mailed from Montreal and come from the same person. Montreal police say the suspect and victim knew each other; however Commander Ian Lafreniere says the victim has not been identified.
“This is a white male we’re waiting for confirmation on his identity. The two part of of the bodies that were found in Ottawa we have all the reasons to believe that it was linked to our homicide, that’s the reason the Ottawa police and the RCMP are working with us because this was a homicide that was committed in Montreal.”
Residents of the building say Magnotta is a quiet man who kept to himself. Police say they are in possession of a video of the dismemberment that some reports say made it online.
